Doug Wood wins Jeff Shepherd Construction Excellence Award!
Congratulations are in order for Doug Wood, who has been honored with the 2024 APGA Jeff Shepherd Construction Excelle Award at the Australian Pipleines and Gas Association (APGA) Convention Awards ceremony in Adelaide.
Doug Wood is a distinguished Pipeline Construction Manager with a remarkable career spanning over 25 years, during which he has successfully supervised the construction of more than 1900 kilometres of pipelines. Doug’s journey in the construction industry began as an apprentice plumber, where he honed his technical skills and gained invaluable experience. His initial role as a plumber saw him contributing to the Western Pipeline Alliance, where he played a crucial part in constructing a recycled water pipeline. This early experience laid the foundation for his expertise in pipeline construction.
On completion of various major water pipeline projects, in 2011, Doug embarked on his first cross country gas pipeline project with the MCJV QCLNG, marking a significant milestone in his career. Since then, he has demonstrated his capability in managing numerous complex cross-country pipeline projects, including the FMG’s Iron Bridge CRWP, Santos CRWP, Scotia and Arcadia Pipelines, Tanami Desert Pipeline, multiple QGC Trunklines projects and tender packages such as the Broken Hill to Wentworth Water Pipeline.
Spiecapag is incredibly proud to count Doug as part of its team. Doug is currently leading the Kurri Kurri 14″ Lateral Pipeline Project as Construction Manager, exemplifying the dedication and expertise that drive our success.
