APGA 2026 HSE Mini Seminar: Building Better Safety Together!

Fantastic turnout for the APGA HSE Mini Seminar 2026 edition on the rooftop of Parliament House in Brisbane last week. Our own Phil Woodhouse, Chair of the APGA HSE Committee, highlighted the committee’s 2025 progress from revising documentation and rebuilding industry data collection to deepening collaboration with Safer Together and set clear goals for 2026 and beyond. Phil also examined workplace fatality trends, particularly in construction and challenged leaders in the room to apply the Japanese concept of “𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘤𝘩𝘪 𝘎𝘦𝘯𝘣𝘶𝘵𝘴𝘶” or 𝗚𝗼 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘀𝗲𝗲 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳. Don’t rely only on reporting, see the work front as it truly is.

We also appreciated insights from Ken Singer, Acting Commissioner for Resources Safety and Health Queensland, reinforcing that strong safety culture is built through visible leadership, field presence, and timely conversations.
