Industry engagement is key to our business and Spiecapag is actively engaged in the energy and utilities infrastructure sectors, with a strong focus on collaboration, innovation, and long-term industry development.

As specialists in the construction of on-shore and near-shore pipelines and associated facilities, Spiecapag is proud to be a long-standing member of key industry bodies, including the Australian Pipelines and Gas Association (APGA), the Australasian Society for Trenchless Technology (ASTT), the International Pipe Line & Offshore Contractors Association (IPLOCA), as well as the Australian Water Association (AWA).

Our team actively contributes to shaping industry standards through participation in several APGA Committees, such as the Research & Standards Committee, the HSE Committee and the Contractors Committee, which is chaired by Ben Collingham, our General Manager – Operations.

We are also proud of the recognition earned by our people. John Rutherford, HDD Operations Manager, was invited to join the ASTT Young Trenchless Professional Committee following his achievement as the 2023 Jeff Pace Young Person of the Year.

Finally, our leadership commitment is exemplified by our General Manager for HDI Lucas, John Stuart Robertson, who has served (and is still serving!) on the APGA Board for over 10 years, including two years as President (2023–2025).

Throughout the year, we attend numerous APGA functions and major industry conferences to make new connections, strengthen existing relationships, gather market intelligence, and showcase our expertise through technical presentations. We are proud to annually sponsor the APGA HSE Seminar in Brisbane, reinforcing our commitment to safety and knowledge sharing across the sector.
