Spotlight on Safety: Load Restraint in Focus for National Road Safety Week

As part of National Road Safety Week 2025 (11–18 May), Spiecapag Australia is proud to shine a light on a critical safety issue in our industry: load restraint inside shipping containers.

In collaboration with Higgins Services, we’ve produced a new safety video that explores the real risks associated with unsecured cargo, and how simple changes can make a big difference. Featuring expert insights from Warrick Higgins, Managing Director of Higgins Services, the video includes a compelling experiment that visually demonstrates what happens when cargo isn’t properly restrained during transport.

Why it matters? Load restraint is often overlooked, yet it’s a major contributor to transport-related incidents. By raising awareness and sharing practical knowledge, we aim to build a culture of safety that protects our people, our partners, and the communities we serve.

What You’ll Learn in the Video:

  • Real movement inside a container during transit
  • How cargo shift can affect drivers, loaders, and road users
  • Our legal responsibilities under the Chain of Responsibility
  • Practical restraint tips you can implement today

Whether you’re a packer, loader, driver, or manager, this video is designed to inform and empower. It’s a reminder that safer roads begin with smarter packing, and that every role in the supply chain plays a part in preventing accidents.
