More than a Run Club: Building Connection, Culture, and Wellbeing
Since kicking off our weekly Run Club on the 18th of March – originally as a bit of extra motivation for the Brisbane Marathon Festival, we’ve built something far bigger than a training group. Week after week, a crew has laced up and shown up, clocking 5–6 km together no matter the pace.
The numbers tell the story:
🏃♂️ 154 combined attendances
📏 795 km run
🔥 47,700 calories burned
🥐 …the equivalent of 117 croissants!
But what’s been even more rewarding is the ripple effect. Our little Wednesday run has inspired Spiecapag teammates to take on events like Bridge to Brisbane, Perth’s Jolly Jumbuck, and the Beerwah Trail Run.
And on a personal level, it’s genuinely changed lives – reduced cigarette intake, new gym memberships, improved cardiovascular and mental fitness, plus countless mid-run conversations that remind us how good it feels to move. This is a group everyone can be proud of.
Spiecapag’s approach to health and safety is dynamic, different, and real. Run Club is proof that when you invest in people, culture grows, wellbeing grows, and connection grows.
Here’s to many more kilometres, conversations, and croissants burned!
