IMF Fundraising: Turning Steps into Opportunities for Young First Nations Australians

We were honoured to welcome Robert de Castella AO MBE , Founder and Director of the Indigenous Marathon Foundation (IMF), to our Head Office to accept a novelty cheque celebrating the incredible fundraising efforts of the Spiecapag team at the 2026 Brisbane Marathon Festival.

Together, our employees, friends and sponsors raised more than $23,00, which was matched by the company, bringing our total contribution to over $46,000.

Where the funds go

Funds raised by Spiecapag will go towards IMF’s I-Can Program delivered across Australia in remote primary schools. They will support the delivery of the I-CAN Program in four communities, encouraging improved school attendance, academic performance, and physical activity and health. Additionally, they will assist students in attending the National I-CAN Championships in Canberra, providing life-changing experiences and connections for young people from remote Australia.

As Rob shared:

“For many students, these championships are much more than a sporting event. They may represent a first flight, the opportunity to meet children from across Australia, and the chance to visit iconic national institutions such as Parliament House.”

We are incredibly proud of everyone who participated, donated or helped make this achievement possible, and we thank Rob and the Indigenous Marathon Foundation team for their ongoing work empowering the next generation of Indigenous leaders.

Once again, we extend our appreciation to all who ran and supported our fundraising journey. Together, we’ve helped create opportunities that extend far beyond the finish line!
