Marinus Link | Follow the journey of our 130T Tensioner to Waratah Bay

Following successful Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) in the Netherlands, the project’s 130-tonne tensioner departed Rotterdam in late July 2026 and has now landed at the Port of Brisbane.

Purpose-built for the project, the tensioner will play a critical role in the installation of the DN400 steel casing within the HDD bores in Victoria, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of the shore crossing works. The specialised equipment will provide the precise control required to safely guide the casing into the bore while minimising stress on the pipe during installation.

The equipment, including the tensioner, power pack and support frame, will soon be on its way to our Toowoomba Yard and later onto Waratah Bay.

The successful FAT confirmed the equipment’s performance and quality requirements before departure, providing confidence that the tensioner is ready for mobilisation and deployment on site.

The arrival of this specialist equipment marks another important step towards project readiness and the delivery of this nationally significant energy infrastructure project.
